Introducing Thematic Search

A lot of the best ideas for Lectr come from my wife, who reads a lot and is actually a very opinionated Product Person (in a good way). She saw that I needed thematic search to help me with my work. If I’m facing an issue where I might need some inspiration, keyword search just doesn’t cut it. I need to search by concept.

Thematic search lets you do that. You type what you’re thinking about and Lectr searches across your notes and highlights for passages that relate to that idea, even if they don’t contain any of the words you typed. (Under the hood, it uses pre-defined natural language embeddings to match by meaning.) It runs on-device using the same privacy model as the rest of the app.
